See It In Action
Here's the full RICE-scored ranking and my recommendation for today's roadmap sync:
Signup Funnel Experiments — Ranked by RICE Score
| Rank | Experiment | RICE Score | Stage | Effort |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Shorten signup form (9 → 4 fields) | 11,220 | Account creation | 3.0 |
| 2 | Social sign-up (Google/Apple) | 7,040 | Account creation | 4.5 |
| 3 | Progress bar + two-step wizard | 5,578 | Account creation | 3.2 |
| 4 | Trust badges / security note | 4,333 | Account creation | 1.8 |
| 5 | Inline password strength meter | 4,050 | Account creation | 2.0 |
| 6 | Post-signup onboarding checklist | 3,613 | Activation | 3.8 |
| 7 | Exit-intent demo capture | 3,575 | Abandonment recovery | 2.2 |
| 8 | Work-email company autofill | 2,808 | Profile setup | 2.5 |
Recommendation for roadmap update
Prioritize the top 3 experiments — all targeting the account-creation step, which is exactly where yesterday's review flagged the biggest drop-off (41.2% → 38.9%):
-
Shorten the form (RICE 11,220) — Highest reach (22k), highest confidence (85%), and lowest relative effort. This is the clear #1 bet. Cutting 5 optional fields directly attacks the primary drop-off point.
-
Social sign-up (RICE 7,040) — Second-highest reach (18k) and the largest single-idea impact score (2.2). Heavier effort (4.5) but the password-friction hypothesis is strong for mobile traffic.
-
Two-step wizard (RICE 5,578) — Good complement to #1; chunking the remaining required fields keeps the shorter form feeling even lighter.
Quick win to run in parallel: Trust badges (#4) has the lowest effort of all eight ideas (1.8) and requires no eng changes to the form itself — Design can ship it while eng works on #1–#3.
What to defer: Onboarding checklist (#6), exit-intent (#7), and company autofill (#8) score lowest and target later funnel stages. They're worth revisiting once the account-creation bleed is plugged.
